Hexahedra is launching on May 16th!
It is with both excitement and terror that I'm announcing that Hexahedra will be launching on Steam in just over a month, on May 16th! There's a new launch trailer which includes lots more of the lovely artwork that Ana created for the narrative sections of the game:
So, what happens between now and then? There are a few bits and bobs for me to finish off, like plugging achievements into Steam, but the game is largely feature-complete at this point. I'll also be running around contacting journalists, YouTubers, and streamers to get the word out about the launch.
There'll be a few updates to the Kickstarter beta as I go (in fact, I've done one just today), so look out for those if you have access.
Either way, if you haven't yet, wishlist and follow Hexahedra on Steam to get notified once it's live!
New puzzles
Lots of puzzles have been added or updated showcasing the Laser, Teleporter, Weigher, Drop Painter, and Payload Adder. The GHSI Inspector and Octavius also have extra levels.
One of the new puzzles adds a giant laser to the factory. It is definitely not safe.
10% Launch Discount and Steam Reviews
Hexahedra will launch with a 10% discount, so do grab your copy soon after launch! If you buy Hexahedra (thank you!), then the absolutely most helpful other thing you can do is to leave a review on Steam. Preferably a positive one! Reviews are the lifeblood of Steam, they're vital both for showing other people that the game is worth picking up, and also for showing the Steam algorithm that it's worth showing the game to people.
Stats Wipe
Once the game launches, I'll need to reset the stats for the later levels that aren't in the demo. Most of them have undergone some changes, even if it's just as simple as altering the random seed, and so most of the post-demo stats are out of date. I'll wipe both the data powering the histograms and the Steam friends leaderboards. If you're in the Kickstarter beta and you've got solutions to those levels, then assuming they're still valid you can just re-run them to get your solutions back into the stats. You might find that your local save's idea of your personal best scores are now better than what the solutions actually achieve. If you want a clean set of personal bests, the easiest option is to start a fresh profile.
AAAAAAA
Did I mention I am both excited and terrified?
